In his spare time during the winter, Jamie loves to be around the rink, and snowmobiling with family and friends.

Captain Troy Bruce.

Captain Troy is a fourth-generation fisherman with 36 years of experience as a full-time Captain of his own vessel, Harvest Moon.  A 60 ton licensed Captain & the oldest son of former Charter Capt. David and Cindy Bruce. Being raised in a large Fishing family it was natural to have a love & passion for the sea.  Troy and his wife Claudia, who caters to many of their clients with some great onboard meals, have raised two daughters, Karen and Katelyn. Capt. Troy now has three Grandsons who will, no doubt, have some saltwater in their veins. In his spare time in the winters, Troy won’t be found in PEI, but in more tropical climates testing out the fishing waters.

Our Fleet Captains.

During peak season, TunaClipper and Harvest Moon may be already booked ahead of your inquiry. Instead of disappointment, we have a variety of local Captain’s with equal professionalism, enthusiasm, and experience as the Bruce Brothers. We recommend:

Captain Ben Bruce.

The Junior Team | Captain Ben Bruce is a 5th generation fisherman. At the age of 21, Ben is now entering his 3rd season as a licensed captain; primarily fishing for mackerel and Bluefin Tuna. Ben has been around the fishing industry since he could walk, fishing with his father Jamie, and has a tremendous passion for the Bluefin Tuna Fishery. Ben is also the IGFA junior world record holder for GBFT at a weight of 869lbs! You’ll be in great hands with Capt. Ben, he may be young in age but has already caught many GBFT and will do whatever it takes to get you tight onboard the “Cindy Seas II”

Captain Craig Veld.

When not fishing Captain Craig and his wife Melissa run the roads with their two daughters Callie and Meleah, going from rink to rink in the Maritimes. This is his absolute favorite sport fishing! Anyone on board the Tuna Clipper will feel the excitement through him and captain Jamie! Blair is an entertainer to say the least he is always up for a good time and will without a doubt make you laugh. Blair’s keen eye and knowledge of how to round up the fish!

He has always been an avid fisherman his whole life. He enjoys trying flies and targeting large trout and stripped bass in his spare time. After you’ve gotten your fill of GBFT with us, talk to Tyler about heading to the beach for some bass fishing later!

Ken

Ken brings over 50 years of Tuna Fishing experience to the boat. He is the greatest Ambassador for the Bluefin Fishery in North Lake, PEI. Ken Fraser, is the world record holder for the largest giant bluefin tuna caught by rod & reel at 1496 lbs. It was caught off Nova Scotia, Canada, 31 years ago, on October 26th, 1979. Ken will take any opportunity to get back out into the boat, if you’d like to hear it straight from one of the pioneers of Bluefin Tuna fishing, he’s just a call away.

The Wives.

Behind every fisherman is the woman who is waiting for his return to shore every day. Our wives’ sweat, blood, and tears are equal contributors to the success of The Bruce Brothers Tuna Charter Fleet.

Bonnie

Bonnie Bruce.

The women in the Bruce family, are equally experienced as the men out on the boat. Bonnie has been out assisting her husband Jamie for 24 years during the Lobster & Tuna season. For years, Bonnie has earned her sea legs, and her seasickness seems to improve each season! Bonnie is always hospitable and ensures the boat is well stocked with all the charter’s needs.

Claudia

Claudia Bruce.

If you’ve ever been out with us, and had some delicious homemade seafood chowder; it was probably made by Claudia Bruce, Troy’s wife. Using a family recipe passed down through the generations, she knows the way to a fishemans’s heart is through the belly. Claudia assists in all accommodations reservations and helping ensure the Charters needs are meet.

The Next Generation

Fishing is in our blood…

In Memory

Captain Donnie MacCormack

November 25, 1959 - February 13, 2021

"Captain" Donnie brought an experience like none other to our charters having fished the "heyday" of Bluefin Tuna Fishing back in the ‘70s and 80s catering to many anglers from around the world. Donnie had almost 50 years of experience on the table and we’re sad he won’t be seeing another season us. We miss having him as a part of the fleet.
